Apa Itu Golden Joystick Awards?
Golden Joystick Awards adalah salah satu penghargaan paling tinggi di industri game, yang pertama kali diadakan pada tahun 1983. Penghargaan ini unik karena pemenangnya ditentukan oleh gamer di seluruh dunia melalui voting online.
Proses Nominasi dan Kategori Baru
Setiap tahun, penjurian di Golden Joystick Awards dilakukan dengan cermat. Pada Golden Joystick Awards 2024, panel juri yang terdiri dari editor media seperti PC Gamer, GamesRadar, dan Retro Gamer, serta ahli industri, menyusun daftar nominasi dari berbagai genre game.
Tahun ini, beberapa kategori baru ditambahkan, seperti Best Indie Game – Self Published untuk developer indie, serta pemecahan kategori Best Audio menjadi Best Soundtrack dan Best Audio Design guna menghargai voting secara lebih spesifik.
Daniel Dawkins, direktur konten untuk game, video, dan acara digital, menjelaskan bahwa “2023 adalah salah satu tahun terbaik dalam sejarah video game, dengan Baldur’s Gate 3 dan Larian Studios memenangkan rekor tujuh trofi di Golden Joystick Awards tahun lalu. 2024 adalah tahun yang menantang bagi industri game dalam banyak hal, namun keragaman dan banyaknya rilisan sepanjang 12 bulan terakhir telah membuat daftar nominasi Golden Joystick Awards kali ini menjadi salah satu yang paling sulit—dan juga paling menarik—untuk disusun.
