The Tokyo Game Show 2025 stage is back in the spotlight, and our attention at PlayEatSleep is on an exciting title from Indonesia that made it to the prestigious Selected Indie 80 lineup: I NEED SPACE.

Game It is developed and published by Arts delusion. We had the chance to try out the demo and are ready to share our first impressions.
Our Experience Trying the I NEED SPACE Demo
The first impression upon seeing the visuals was very positive. Art style The hilarious I NEED SPACE is very successful in establishing its identity as a cozy game. The demo available at TGS 2025 gave us a clear picture of the main activity, which is exploration. We started our adventure from our home planet, then flew into space to visit other planets nearby.
The exploration mechanic feels intuitive. We were able to make marks to guide us to our destination planet, a feature that greatly aided navigation in the vast vacuum of space. However, we did find one small caveat. When we wanted to go back, there were no markers or directions to return to our home planet. While it's not that far away, the lack of maps and markers makes the return trip feel a little longer and potentially confusing for new players. The tempo of the game feels slow, a design decision that we feel is in line with the genre. cozy that it carries.
Get to know the world and story of I NEED SPACE
After trying out the demo, we delved into the information shared by the developer. I NEED SPACE positions itself as a game of 2D Open-Space Exploration which is rich in atmosphere and narrative.
