Developer Secret Character, known through game Banchou Tactics, has announced its latest project, Eternity Breaker. This game is a turn-based roguelike with visuals 2.5D pixel art fantasy which is scheduled for release on PC via Steam in 2026. The main feature is a character progression system where classes are determined by skills obtained during the game.
Eternity Breaker Gameplay Concept
In Eternity Breaker, the storyline centers on the player's attempts to find a way out of the dungeon without end. Combat in this game uses a turn-based system (turn-based) that depends on the use of Skill.
The mechanic that sets this game apart is its approach to the class system. Unlike a typical game, the character's class is not chosen at the beginning, but is dynamically formed based on skills that players earn. In addition, skills available to use in each round of combat will be randomized, as will the upgrade status, requiring players to constantly adapt.
Dynamic Skill and Class System
At the heart of the Eternity Breaker game is the system skills which are divided into three main categories, each with different functions:
- Melee (Red): Focusing on physical attacks.
- Magic (Blue): Centered on the use of magic abilities.
- Technical (Green): Includes various other tactical skills.
Combination of types skills obtained will determine the character class. For example, getting two skills Red type will change the character to Warrior class. If after that the player gets two skills Blue type, the class will change to Battle Mage.
Class progression can become more specialized. By collecting four skills Red type, the character will change to the Black Knight class. There are more than 20 classes available in the game. These classes are divided into two types: Basic Class who have additional special techniques, and High Class that gives access to ultimate attack.
Additional Elements in the Game
To complement its combat system, Eternity Breaker also features Artifacts and items. These elements can be combined with various combat techniques to create a diverse playstyle in each game session (run). This allows players to experiment with various combinations to find the most effective strategy.
Eternity Breaker Release Schedule
Secret Character is targeting Eternity Breaker for release in 2026. The game will be available for the PC platform via Steam.
With its mechanics focusing on dynamic class building, Eternity Breaker offers a different approach to the genre turn-based roguelike.
