Firefly Wedding shared new details for its TV anime adaptation via the official website. These updates include a promotional video teaser, a second visual teaser, the main cast, additional staff, and an October 2026 airdate.
The two names announced as the main cast are Lynn as Satoko Kirigaya and Koki Uchiyama as Shinpei Goto. At the same time, the main production team lineup for anime this is also starting to be shown more clearly.
Firefly Wedding Synopsis
Firefly Wedding centers on Satoko, a noble princess who seems to have the perfect life from the outside. She is beautiful, comes from a respected family, and is at an age that is considered ideal for marriage.
However, Satoko has an illness and has only a short time to live. In the midst of this, she tries to find a marriage that can restore her value in the eyes of her family.
The situation changes when Satoko becomes the target of a mysterious assassin named Shinpei. To save herself, Satoko makes the reckless decision to propose marriage.
Satoko and Shinpei's relationship then becomes the focal point of Firefly Wedding's story. As Satoko tries to survive, Shinpei comes as a figure who brings threats and big changes to her life.

Yuko Kakihara, known for Urusei Yatsura 2022-2024 version, IRODUKU: The World in Colors, and Blue Box, will supervise and write the series scripts. For music, the anime will be handled by NOGRID.
Takahiro Kamei, who was previously involved in Urusei Yatsura 2022-2024 version, became the director for Firefly Wedding at David Production. Meanwhile, Yukiko Aikei, who is known for her Horizon in the Middle of Nowhere, Words Bubble Up Like Soda Pop, and Your Lie in April, handling character design.

The Firefly Wedding anime is adapted from a manga by Oreko Tachibana. It began publishing on Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in January 2023.
Shogakukan published the manga's 11th volume on February 19. The English version of the manga is published by Viz.
