If you're looking for a game with a mix of real-time action and supernatural investigation, RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is one title worth keeping an eye on. This game is a remastered version of Devil Summoner: Raidou Kuzunoha vs. The Soulless ArmyWith the addition of modern features, improved combat system, and over 50 new demons.
This remastered version will also be coming to Nintendo Switch 2, and is scheduled to release alongside the console's launch.
Story and trailer
This game is set in the 20th year of the Taisho era, in an alternate reality Japan full of spiritual powers and mysterious phenomena. You'll play as Raidou Kuzunoha, a young Devil Summoner who goes undercover as an assistant detective at the Narumi Detective Agency. His main task is to protect the capital city from threats emanating from the demon world.
One day, a female student came to ask for help. Before she could explain her purpose, she was kidnapped by a mysterious figure. The incident is the beginning of a larger crisis that could threaten the entire country. With his summoning abilities, Raidou must uncover the truth behind the kidnapping and save the city from destruction.
Real-Time Battle
The combat system in the game was redesigned to be more responsive and provide a more dynamic gaming experience.
- Intuitive Combat
Sword and pistol attacks can be combined with skills, jumps, and dodges. Players must read enemy patterns and adjust attack timing to create effective combos. - Summoning Demons
Players can summon two demons in one battle. They will act automatically according to the situation or follow direct commands. You can also try combinations of the same two demons. - MAG Drain System
MAG (Magnetite) is a form of spiritual energy that demons need to use skills in battle. If MAG runs out, the demon cannot launch special attacks.
You can absorb MAG from enemies using light attacks. Heavy attacks deal big damage, but don't absorb MAG. It's important to assess the situation: whether you need to recover MAG, or focus on dealing big damage right away. - Exploitation of Enemy Weaknesses
Attacking with an element that is the enemy's weakness will temporarily paralyze them, result in an automatic critical hit, and increase MAG absorption. - The Art of Confinement
Raidou can capture enemy demons using a special canister. If successful, players can interact with the demon and get help such as HP recovery or status upgrades. - Devil's Bane
This special technique can be activated when you've managed to throw your enemy off-balance with consecutive attacks, or dodge enemy attacks with precise timing. This attack deals massive damage and absorbs MAG at the same time. - Spirit Slash
When the Spirit bar is full, players can use Spirit Slash to attack all enemies in the area simultaneously with high damage. - Experiments with Weapon Types
Raidou can use three types of weapons: sword (balanced), spear (fast attack), and axe (big damage). Players are free to choose weapons according to their play style.
Investigations
In addition to fighting, Raidou also investigates various phenomena that occur in the capital city.
- Use Demon to Gather Information
Demon has Investigation Skills such as Read Minds to read the character's mind, and Cool Down to create a foothold from frozen water. Some areas are inaccessible to humans, so demons must be sent to investigate. - The Real World and the Dark Realm
Raidou will be exploring two worlds: the real world and the Dark Realm. Only Devil Summoners and individuals with spiritual power can sense it. In this remastered version, direct contact with demons will trigger a field battle. - Purging the Aril Rifts
Aril Rifts is a dimensional rift where demons enter the real world. Closing it gives more experience than fighting in the real world. Dark Realm.
Goumaden and Demon Fusion
Players can bring the collected demons to Goumadenthe research facility led by Dr. Victor.
- Demon Fusion
Various fusion methods are available such as Normal Fusion, Reverse Fusion, Search Fusion, Element Fusion, and Mitama Fusion. Players can also choose which skills to pass on to the fusion demon. - Devil Chart & Premium Devil Chart
All demons that have been captured will be recorded in Devil Chart. Players can call them back for a fee. Premium Devil Chart allows registration of more than one version of the same demon. - Sword Alchemy
Players can create new weapons by combining swords and soul crystals from demons. The resulting weapon can unlock Sword Skills new to Raidou.
Demons and Demon Orders
This remastered version adds 50 new demons, increasing the total to over 120 demons. Demons present include characters from Devil Summoner 2, Shin Megami Tensei V, and various other ATLUS titles. Each demon has Order which affects the element's weakness, resistance, and possible fusion results.
Improved Detective Journal and the Express Streetcar
This latest version also adds features that make it easier to explore and track investigations.
- Enhanced Detective Journal
Gouto records all important information such as clues, objectives, and investigation tips. Players can open it at any time through the menu. - Express Streetcar
To speed up location movement, players can use express streetcar to places that have been visited before.
Title Submission Campaign
In addition to the updated gameplay features, RAIDOU Remastered also features an interactive campaign for fans. Through the Title Submission Campaign, you can submit creative ideas for in-game titles that Raidou will use.
The best 10 titles from the submissions will be selected and included in the free DLC titled Demonic Designations: Summoner Titles. These titles can later be completed and used in-game by players.
The deadline for idea submissions is May 4, 2025. This is a rare opportunity to contribute directly to game content and be part of the world of Devil Summoner.

Availability
RAIDOU Remastered: The Mystery of the Soulless Army is scheduled for release on June 19, 2025. The game will be available for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, and Steam. A version for Nintendo Switch 2 will be released simultaneously with the console's launch, delivering a high-resolution remastered experience from SEGA and ATLUS.
Language-wise, players can choose subtitles in Japanese, English, Traditional Chinese, and Simplified Chinese. Voice-over is available in both Japanese and English.
This remaster brings more than just visual improvements. With an updated combat system, in-depth investigation features, and more demons to collect and diffuse, RAIDOU Remastered offers a complete gaming experience for fans of action and supernatural mysteries.
