Ubisoft is back with a major update for game open-world made by them. This time, players are invited to dive into the darker and more personal side of the story through the expansion. Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes.

The launch of this content was done in conjunction with the theatrical release of the film Avatar: Fire and Ash. This strategy gives fans the opportunity to enjoy the full experience, both from the big screen and through game consoles.

Tracing the Story of Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes

Massive Entertainment, Ubisoft's studio, is working with Lightstorm Entertainment and Disney Games on the development of this content. The story centers on So'lek, a tough Na'vi warrior who has been forged by many battles.

Unlike his previous adventures, So'lek is now driven by vengeance. He is on an arduous mission to protect his loved ones from the threats that have emerged in the Western Frontier. His path intersects with warband of the Mangkwan or Ash Clan.

The arrival of this clan changes the dynamics of the game significantly. Whereas before players were used to fighting humans or RDA machines, now you'll be faced with brutal conflicts between fellow Na'vi.

The root of the problem stems from past history. So'lek once clashed with Wukula, a Mangkwan warrior. The encounter left Wukula with physical scars and a deep grudge, which now fuels a deadly rivalry between the two.

New Challenges in Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes

In this expansion, players will not only face Wukula alone. The enemy lineup is strengthened by other dangerous characters like Zari. She is sniper lethality trained by Recom Lyle Wainfleet.

Despite being blind in one eye, Zari is highly skilled with human weaponry and RDA equipment. This ability makes her a serious threat lurking in the shadows. There's also Rakx who is a master of aerial combat and is ready to spread terror from the skies on his ikran.

To counter the threat from the Ash Clan, Avatar: Frontiers of Pandora - From the Ashes also introduces a new RDA unit. You will find hellhounds, Skel suits, and variant AMP suit specifically designed for warfare using RPGs, sniper, and shotgun.

This combination of enemies creates dynamic challenges both on the ground and in the air. Major Tyler Bukowski of RDA Sec-Ops also returns as a commanding figure. He's in charge of coordinating the RDA's movements with Ash Clan to eliminate the Resistance in the Western Frontier.

New, More Tactical Gameplay and Features

This expansion opens up a sub-region called The Ravines located in the Ravaged Kinglor Forest region. This environment is specifically designed to support the experience of gameplay more intense and challenging.

Na'vi-versus-Na'vi battles demand tactical precision and high adaptability from players. This is because the enemy has a unique fighting style that differs from previous enemies. Each encounter is designed to highlight the opponent's personality, from Wukula's pursuit to Zari's long-range attacks.

A much-anticipated feature has finally arrived: the camera perspective option. Players can now switch between first-person and third-person. This feature provides a fresh perspective on enjoying the visuals of the game, coupled with the mechanics of the traversal which is improved.

You can play this expansion across multiple platforms, from PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Amazon Luna, to PC via the Ubisoft Store, Epic Games Store, and Steam.

This content can be purchased separately or through special editions such as From the Ashes Edition and Complete Edition which includes Season Pass. Ubisoft seems to have successfully expanded the game's mythology in a bolder direction with this additional content.
