The opening remarks were delivered by the Deputy Minister for Economic & Creative Affairs, Irene Umar, who highlighted the importance of gender equality in the male-dominated gaming world.
"Today's initiative is very important as gender equality in games. This gender bias is not only happening in gaming, but also in various industries. My message to my friends here: do not be pushed by gender bias, we must move forward, move forward together. My hope is quite big here, so that we move forward, and Indonesia can dominate the top leaderboard of esports industry," said Irene.
Debora Imanuella, Senior VP of UniPin and Founder of Luna Nera, also expressed her pride in the achievements of women in the gaming industry. She hopes that this event can inspire other women to continue working.
"Women are often underestimated, especially in this male-dominated industry. Through GameHers, we want to recognize their hard work and striving here, for all the work they've created, and the amazing achievements they've made. Hopefully this good initiative will spur all women to pursue even more extraordinary dreams and aspirations," said Debora.
