A new game titled Farnia Village has appeared on the Steam, This is not just any game. The project is being worked on by some of the key people who were previously involved in the development of the Rune Factory 3 and Rune Factory 4 series.
According to RPGSite.net The game promises a new adventure where you can build a life from scratch in a peaceful village, complete with elements familiar to veterans of the genre.
Behind-the-Scenes Team
One of the things that makes Farnia Village stand out is its development team. The project is led by Shinichi Manabe through his studio, ManaGames. For those who don't know, Manabe is the director of Rune Factory 4 and also the chief programmer for Rune Factory 3. His experience in crafting addictive simulation games is certainly a strong foundation.

Not alone, Manabe also re-teamed with Takanori Tsuji, who was responsible for narrative writing in both Rune Factory games. Lively stories and character interactions are one of the series' strengths, so his presence gives us great hope. The music sector is also filled with a familiar name, namely Tomoko Morita, a composer whose music has graced the Rune Factory series up to Rune Factory: Tides of Destiny. This collaboration seems to be a small reunion that has the potential to produce quality work.
Get to know Farnia Village Gameplay
Farnia Village offers a gameplay loop consisting of three main pillars: farming, adventure and relationships. You start a new life with no memory of anything other than your own name, and are given a small house and a farm to manage. Farming is made easy to learn, but still has depth for those who want to take it seriously. The crops are not only for sale, but can also be processed into dishes, gifts for the villagers, or even materials for the forge. Uniquely, you can befriend monsters to help you in the fields.
Beyond farming, the world of Farnia Village is full of adventure. There are various dungeons to explore, including seasonal dungeons, ever-changing ruins, and the Dark Queen's castle. You don't have to adventure alone; you can invite villagers or tamed monsters to join you in battle. Bringing a bento box is also part of the preparation before facing the enemies. Each of these elements is designed to make exploration feel more lively and challenging.
Development Journey and Platform
The development of Farnia Village was supported by the community through a Kickstarter campaign. The initial funding target of 5 million yen was reached in record time, demonstrating the high enthusiasm of players. This success allowed the team to set up various stretch goals or additional targets to enrich the game content.

For now, Farnia Village will be released first for the PC platform via Steam. The development team also plans to release it on other PC platforms such as DLsite. While there is mention of the game being optimized for Nintendo Switch-grade hardware, a release for the console has yet to be fully confirmed. Players on the PC platform will be the first to experience life in the village of Farnia.
Language and Global Access
To ensure the game can be enjoyed by a wider audience, ManaGames has confirmed that Farnia Village will be available in both Japanese and English. This opens the door for the international community to be able to jump right into the story and interact with the game world without language barriers.
With its blend of an experienced development team and solid gameplay mechanics, Farnia Village is a title to keep an eye on, especially if you've been longing for a life simulation game with an immersive fantasy adventure.
