Trying out games was one of the highlights of our visit to Tokyo Game Show 2024 and one of the most memorable gaming experiences was when we tried out Digital Combat Simulator (DCS) at the Razbam Japan booth.
DCS is a game by Eagle Dynamics that provides an accurate warfare simulation platform. Razbam is a content provider and development partner for DCS and has provided various content in the form of military aircraft that are designed to be very accurate to the original for use in the game.

At the Razbam Japan booth, we tried playing DCS not with a mouse and keyboard, but using a military-standard simulator machine. The machine cannot be bought carelessly and has a very accurate level of accuracy for fighter simulation.
To the PlayEatSleep team, Razbam Japan Executive Vice President Takumi Inoue said that he and his team presented two simulator machines at TGS 2024 this time. Both have different systems, namely based on virtual reality (VR) and mixed reality (MR).
"In the VR-based machines, we have military-grade simulation hardware so the accuracy is very good," said Takumi Inoue. "While in the MR-based machine, visitors can try a realistic fighter cockpit simulation."

We tried both and sure enough, the content and simulation system provided by Razbam has a high level of accuracy. This is probably the most realistic fighter simulation experience we have ever tried, especially from the fighter models that look very realistic. Coupled with the military-standard simulation hardware, we felt like we were a Top Gun pilot when trying out the fighter simulation at the Razbam Japan booth.
Takumi Inoue also said the system could be used to help fighter pilots train with a minimalist setup while still emphasizing realism.
DCS itself has been released on Steam, and you can also purchase the content directly on the Razbam Simulations website:
