Publisher PLAYISM and developer HANDSUM have announced the release date for the game action puzzle MOTIONREC. Game is scheduled to launch for the PC platform via Steam on October 27. The main concept of the game is the use of motion recording and replay mechanics to complete levels.
MotionRec Gameplay Mechanics
The core gameplay in MOTIONREC centers on the ability to record and replay character movements. Players can record traces of movement, including walking and jumping. These recordings can then be played back in other locations to help the character get past obstacles or reach certain areas.
For example, this feature allows characters to reach platforms that are too high or cross areas with no footing. By utilizing the motion recordings that have been made, players can manipulate the character's position to progress through the stage.
This mechanic becomes the main tool used to interact with the various gimmicks in the game.

Background Story
Players will control a character called Rec, a robot whose job is to record civilization. The setting of the game is a world that has been destroyed and is now ruled by machines. The main objective is to guide Rec through the world.
By using MOTIONREC's abilities, players are expected to uncover the mystery behind the world's devastated state.
Mechanical Limitations in MotionRec
The use of the motion replay ability has limitations. Players can only activate the playback several times while the character is in the air.
This usage amount will reset back to full whenever the character lands on solid ground or footing. This rule requires players to account for the use of the feature playback between each landing.
The Team Behind the Project
The development of MOTIONREC involved several parties. This game is a project of HANDSUM inc. studio, with shoma acting as the developer. Visual assets in the form of pixel art in the game was done by m7kenji, while the music composition was handled by Kyohei Fujita.
Release Date and Demo Availability
MOTIONREC will be officially released for PC via Steam on October 27th.
For players who want to try out the game mechanics before the release date, a version of the demo has been provided and is currently available for download via the game's official page on the Steam platform.
