Ubisoft with Evil Empire released version 1.0 of The Rogue Prince of Persia, a 2D roguelite with parkour and acrobatic combat. This release marks the end of the Early Access phase on Steam after over a year of open development, bringing many community feedback-based improvements.
Cross-platform release, Switch to follow
Gamers can play The Rogue Prince of Persia on Xbox Series X|S, Xbox Cloud, Xbox on PC for Game Pass subscribers, PlayStation 5, as well as PC via Steam, Ubisoft Connect, and Epic Games Store. Ubisoft+ subscribers on PC can also access it. The Switch and Switch 2 versions are scheduled to arrive later this year, extending the reach to a handheld player base that looks forward to fast-paced, responsive platforming action.

Evolution of the long Early Access
Development during Early Access resulted in 15+ major updates that changed many aspects. Art direction and color palettes are refreshed, new biomes enrich route variety, weapons and trinkets are increased, and metaprogression is deepened for high levels of replayability.
Players navigate procedural levels with a focus on agility: wall-running, avoiding traps, and stringing together combos are at the core of gameplay. Over 100 weapons and medallions open up a wealth of build experimentation, allowing for run-to-run playstyle expression. The Prince's redemptive narrative ties the game together, with a mission to right a terrible wrong that haunts his people.
Music collaboration: OST by ASADI
The atmosphere of the game races to the beat of the intense soundtrack from ASADI, a Persian-American musician and performance artist. The Complete OST is available August 22 on Ubisoft Music's streaming services and YouTube channel. A physical edition on vinyl is planned through partner Laced Records. An audio identity that blends modern and traditional elements gives strong character to the action rhythms and parkour moments that demand precise timing.

Exciting reasons for new and returning players
Fans of roguelite and action platformers find a combination of movement-first, high replayability, and progression that rewards exploration. Players who joined the Early Access phase got a more mature version, the result of community feedback-based tuning.
Access via Game Pass and Ubisoft+ reduces barriers to trying out this final release, while cross PC store support gives the ecosystem flexibility of choice. The speedrunner community will potentially be drawn to the depth of the parkour mechanic, while build hunters will appreciate the rich variety of weapons and medallions. The redemption story presents a clear purpose behind each run, creating motivation to pursue the "true outcome" and challenge fate with every attempt.
