For the iPhone 16, the government sets a minimum TKDN value of 35% that must be met for the device to be legally sold. This policy applies to all telecommunication devices, including global products like the iPhone.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>With TKDN, the Indonesian government hopes to reduce dependence on imported products and encourage domestic investment. Although a challenge for global manufacturers, this policy is expected to have a positive impact on the development of Indonesia's technology industry.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"iPhone_16_tetap_bisa_masuk_Indonesia\"><\/span>iPhone 16 can still enter Indonesia?<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>Despite being banned for sale, the iPhone 16 is still allowed to enter Indonesia with a few exceptions. The device is allowed entry if it is brought in by a passenger from overseas or sent through the mail, but only for personal use.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The government allows a maximum of two units per passenger or per postal shipment. This rule is in accordance with the provisions of Regulation No.46 of 2021, which states that goods carried by baggage or post must be for personal use and may not be traded.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Pengawasan_Perdagangan_iPhone_16\"><\/span>iPhone Trade Surveillance 16<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>The Ministry of Industry is actively monitoring iPhone 16 trading activities in the local market. As a preventive measure against illegal trade practices, the ministry also encourages the public to report iPhone 16 trading activities conducted through passenger or postal channels. This is to ensure that the TKDN regulation is properly implemented.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to a report by the Ministry of Industry, from August to October 2024, around nine thousand iPhone 16 units have entered Indonesia through passenger luggage. Each of these units is taxed accordingly. While these devices are legally imported as personal items, resale in the local market is still against the rules.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><span class=\"ez-toc-section\" id=\"Komitmen_Investasi_Apple_di_Indonesia\"><\/span>Apple's Investment Commitment in Indonesia<span class=\"ez-toc-section-end\"><\/span><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p>In addition to TKDN requirements, Apple is also required to fulfill investment commitments in Indonesia in order to officially sell the iPhone 16. Currently, Apple still has to complete the remaining investment of Rp240 billion from a total of Rp1.71 trillion that has been agreed with the government to obtain a sales license.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If all requirements are met, Apple will have a greater chance of officially accessing the Indonesian market. This investment commitment is expected to have a positive impact on both Apple and the Indonesian technology market.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Trade ban <em>iPhone 16<\/em> in Indonesia demonstrates the government's commitment to supporting the development of the national technology industry. With TKDN requirements and investment commitments that must be met, this policy encourages local contributions in the electronics market.
