Big update Wuthering Waves version 2.6 titled "By Sun's Scourge, By Moon's Revelation" will launch on August 28. The patch brings two new Main Quests, new exploration areas, a new Resonator, new Echo and Sonata, layered seasonal events, and improved graphical performance on PC. The content is designed to encourage player progression, accelerate exploration, and provide fresh build options for endgame teams.

Main content: New quests, areas, and challenges

The two story acts in Chapter II come through "By Sun's Burning Hand" and "By Moon's Fated Light". A new location called Sanguis Plateaus adds enemies, materials and exploration activities. Tactical Hologram: Lady of the Sea is ready to be your next challenge.

Permanent content has also evolved: Tower of Adversity added Floor 3 and Floor 4, Overdrive Zone access became faster, while Whimpering Wastes updated the Burning Waves feature based on "Ember" accumulation. The Record Sync feature helps auto-clear a portion of the floor during a new cycle, making the grind routine feel lighter.

Resonator, banner, Echo and Sonata: the potential of a new meta

Two new Resonators, Augusta and Iuno, led the Featured Convene in two phases. Phase I featured Augusta, Carlotta and The Shorekeeper; Phase II featured Iuno and Ciaccona. Signature weapons present include Thunderflare Dominion for Augusta, Moongazer's Sigil for Iuno, The Last Dance for Carlotta, Stellar Symphony for The Shorekeeper, and Woodland Aria for Ciaccona.

The new Echo includes The False Sovereign, Lady of the Sea, and Corrosaurus, plus Nightmare variants like Gulpuff to Predator. The new Phantom Echo brings Fallacy of No Return and Kerasaur. The two new Sonata sets have the potential to shift build choices: Crown of Valor gives ATK and Crit DMG when gaining Shield up to 5 stacks, while Law of Harmony gives Heavy Attack DMG a huge Bonus after Echo Skill and a team Echo Skill DMG buff that can stack. This combination looks interesting for shield-based compositions and intense Echo Skill rotations.

QoL of exploration, UI, and rewards: faster traversal

Flight can now be activated directly in open areas without the need for elevation points, and is extended to Jinzhou and Black Shores. Minerals are now marked on the map, Lootmapper detection is expanded, and exploration tracking for Viewpoints, Blobflies, and Frostbugs is present in Jinzhou. Gallery adds "Weapons" category to view weapon details.

The one-click reward claim feature is available on many reward pages, while the PC version gets new shortcuts for quick navigation. Seasonal events are busy: Hunt of Ash and Steel, Sanguis Plateaus Travel Atlas, Prints of Plateaus, Tidal Defense Simulator, Gifts of the Hunt (7-Day Login), Second Coming of Solaris (Ultra), Marks of the Wild, Moonlit Revelation, Beyond the Waves: Rinascita, and Back to Solaris. The "Gifts of the Moon Roamer" login event grants Radiant Tide x10 and Forging Tide x10, good for preparing to pull in the chosen phase.

PC graphics performance: DLSS 4, FSR 3, and XeSS 2

Frame generation support extends to more GPUs. FSR 3 options are present for select AMD cards, XeSS 2 for Intel, and NVIDIA DLSS 4 with Multi Frame Generation is also supported, up to 4x frame generation depending on the GPU. Compatibility details will be explained in the official announcement. These enhancements have the potential to significantly increase frame rates, especially for high-refresh monitors, without sacrificing key visuals.

Availability notes: Wuthering Waves is available on PS5, PC (client and Epic Games Store), iOS, and Android; the Steam version is planned for April 29. Update 2.6 feels jam-packed, providing a compelling reason to go back to exploring and rearranging team compositions before the banner rolls.
