Fall 2026 brings a fairly diverse lineup of isekai anime. It includes sequels to popular series, revivals of classic titles, and even isekai set in space.
7. From Far Away
From Far Away (Kanata kara) The story follows Noriko, a high school student who is suddenly transported to a strange fantasy world on her way home from school. In that world, Noriko meets Izark, a brave young man who rescues and protects her. However, Izark harbors a very dangerous dark power within him.
An ancient prophecy identifies Noriko as the key to unleashing that dark power. Their relationship has been complicated from the very beginning. This anime is perfect for those who enjoy classic isekai stories that focus on romance, destiny, and the journey of two characters through a beautiful yet dangerous world.
6. Completely Clearing Another World Ruled by a Goddess with Zero Believers
Full Clear: Another World Under a Goddess with Zero Believers (Shinja Zero no Megami-sama to Hajimeru Isekai Kouryaku) The story follows Makoto Takatsuki, a high school student who loves playing RPGs. The bus carrying his class gets into an accident, and all the students are transported to another world. His friends are granted high stats and powerful skills, but Makoto ends up as nothing more than an apprentice mage with weak abilities. He also has only ten years left to live.
Makoto’s situation changes when Noah, a minor goddess with no followers, appears in his dream and asks him to become her first follower. With Noah’s blessing, Makoto trains hard and uses his weak skills in unusual ways. The appeal of this anime lies in its underdog protagonist, who triumphs through strategy rather than instant power.
5. Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship!
Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship! (Since I Had the Strongest Equipment and Was a Space Pilot, I Want to Live Freely as a Mercenary Aiming for the Top) The story follows Sato Takahiro, an ordinary office worker who loves to play video games. One day, he wakes up inside a spaceship that looks exactly like the one from his favorite space shooter game. The ship is equipped with top-of-the-line gear, and a vast galaxy awaits his exploration.
Takahiro chooses to live freely as a mercenary while assembling a new crew. He also has a simple goal: to own his own home. This anime offers a refreshing twist by bringing the isekai formula to a sci-fi setting, complete with spaceship battles and interplanetary exploration.
4. As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World, Season 3
As a Reincarnated Aristocrat, I’ll Use My Appraisal Skill to Rise in the World Season 3 (Tensei Kizoku, Kantei Skill de Nariagaru 3rd Season) We return to follow Ars Louvent, a young nobleman who has been reincarnated with the rare “Appraisal” skill. This skill allows Ars to see the talents and potential in every person. With this ability, he recruits talented individuals who are often overlooked by others.
Season 3 continues Ars’s journey to rise to a higher position in his new world. A higher position also brings greater responsibilities. This series is still a great fit for those who enjoy isekai stories focused on strategy, politics, and territory management.
3. Magic Knight Rayearth
Magic Knight Rayearth (Mahou Kishi Rayearth) is a new anime project celebrating the 30th anniversary of this CLAMP work. The story centers on Hikaru Shidou, Umi Ryuuzaki, and Fuu Hououji, three middle school students on a field trip to Tokyo Tower. Suddenly, Princess Emeraude, the Pillar of Cephiro, summons the Magic Knights to save her world. It turns out that these three students are the very Magic Knights she has summoned.
Rayearth is one of the seminal isekai titles from the 1990s, long before isekai became the popular genre it is today. This new project gives longtime fans the chance to return to Cephiro. For those of you who haven’t seen it yet, this anime could be the perfect starting point to discover CLAMP’s classic works.
2. Reincarnated as a Sword II
Reincarnated as a Sword II (Tensei Shitara Ken Deshita II) The story continues with a man who has been reincarnated as a sword with its own consciousness. This sword fights alongside Fran, a girl from the Black Cat tribe who has cat ears. The sword grants Fran strength and knowledge, while Fran carries the sword into every battle.
Season 1 builds their bond until they feel like family. Season 2 opens the door to new adventures with different locations and enemies. The combination of intense action and the warm relationship between Master and Fran is the main reason this series is worth watching.
1. A Wild Last Boss Has Appeared! Season 2
A Wild Last Boss Has Appeared! Season 2 (Yasei no Last Boss ga Arawareta! 2nd Season) Continuing the story of Lufas Maphaahl, the former final boss who once threatened the world. Now, Lufas is no longer an enemy of humanity. Instead, he lives peacefully among humans, in the world he once nearly conquered.
This premise is intriguing because it reverses the roles of the hero and the villain. You get to see how the world reacts to the return of a figure who was once greatly feared. Season 2 has the potential to delve deeper into Lufas’s past and his relationship with his former followers.
