Publisher Game Source Entertainment with developers TVT and Ratata Arts has released gameplay trailer latest for Retrieved, a rhythmic roguelike action game which features a unique combination of rhythm and combat strategy side-scrolling. This trailer gives a clearer picture of the game's mechanics, including features online co-op which allows up to 4 players to play together.
Fusion Rhythm Game and Roguelike Action
The latest trailer released in IGN Fan Fest Day 2 2025 showing footage of the fight against boss giant crab, showing how rhythm-based mechanics are applied in battle. As rhythmic roguelike action game, Retrieved blends rhythm-based game elements with action side-scrolling, creating a challenging and dynamic experience for players.

Built by Creators Patapon
Retrieved developed by Hiroyuki Kotani, the creator behind Patapon, an iconic rhythm game first released in 2007 for the PlayStation Portable (PSP). Patapon became one of the most influential games in the genre with unique mechanics that combined strategy and musical rhythm in gameplay.
Other than Kotani, Retrieved also involved Kemmei Adachi, the original composer of the Patapon, which again creates music with a distinctive beat to support the gaming experience. With a strong foundation of Patapon, Retrieved bringing new innovations through elements roguelike and features co-op multiplayer, offering a broader experience for players.
Closed Beta Started February 27, 2025
Based on the latest information from the Kickstarter page Retrieved, closed beta will begin on February 27, 2025. Kazuto Sakajiri, the game's producer, revealed that Retrieved has reached over 100,000 wishlist on Steam, indicating high interest from the gamer community.
The development team ensures that Retrieved will not be available in Steam Next Fest future as they will focus on closed beta this. In the initial stage, players will only be able to access Stage 1, while Stages 2 and 3 will be added gradually over a trial period lasting approximately one month. Information regarding the distribution of access codes and the launch schedule will be announced via Discord and our X/Twitter their official website.
Release Schedule Retrieved
Retrieved is scheduled to release in 2025 for PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC. However, there has been no official announcement regarding the exact release date.
