Kinetic Publishing has announced that it will publish *Aether Wizard Life*, a cozy-style wizard life simulation game developed by Vonder Games. The game is scheduled to launch for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, Switch 2, and PC via Steam in the fall of 2028. This announcement was one of five titles presented by Kinetic Publishing during their debut showcase.
The Haunted City and the Mystery Behind It
In Aether Wizard Life, players take on the role of a young wizard who has just graduated from the academy and been assigned to a remote coastal town called Starfall. The town was once beautiful, but is now haunted by wandering spirits, long-standing conflicts, and creatures lurking behind the fog.
The game's story centers on a secret organization that hunts down and kidnaps witches to burn them alive. Players must follow clues and solve the mysteries surrounding the group's existence while striving to rise through the ranks to become an Archmage.
Daily Routines at the Castle That Can Be Carried Out
Every morning, players wake up in a walking, fully customizable castle. From there, players are free to choose their daily activities, ranging from growing magical plants, caring for exotic creatures, exploring winding dungeons to battle monsters, to chatting with townspeople to unlock new side quests.
Shin Wang, a producer at Vonder Games, said the team was inspired by indie games such as *Spiritfarer*, *Stardew Valley*, and *Dave the Diver*, as well as Studio Ghibli’s animation style. According to him, *Aether Wizard Life* was designed to be a world that truly feels magical, where players are free to choose how they spend each day.
Character Customization and Relationships with NPCs
Aether Wizard Life also offers extensive character customization, including the ability to choose which school of magic to study. Players can even form romantic relationships and eventually marry one of the twenty available NPCs.
With its darker, more mysterious atmosphere—a departure from the usual cozy vibe—Aether Wizard Life is still well worth looking forward to until its release.
