Anime Gachiakuta finally released the first trailer that immediately caught the attention of fans. Not only does the trailer present impressive visuals, but it also confirms a July 2025 airdate. Studio BONES FILM is in charge of animation, while Crunchyroll has been confirmed as the global streaming service for the anime.
With its dark atmosphere and intense action, Gachiakuta looks set to be one of the most anticipated anime of the coming summer, with an adaptation that stays true to its source material.
Gachiakuta Synopsis: The Struggle in an Outcast World
Gachiakuta follows the journey of Rudo, a young man living in the slums of a floating city. In this world, class differences are stark-the elite enjoy luxury, while those at the bottom must survive on what those at the top have thrown away.
One day, Rudo was wrongly accused of murder. This wrongful conviction earned him the most extreme punishment-dropped into the abyss where all trash is dumped. However, down there, an even greater threat awaited. Years of accumulated garbage had given birth to a vicious monster known as the trash beasts.
In desperation, Rudo found a way to survive. He meets a group called CleanersRudo is an outcast who is tasked with taking down the outcast monsters. By honing his new powers, Rudo is determined to find the truth and take revenge on those who have framed him.
First trailer Gachiakuta successfully captures the atmosphere of a harsh and dangerous world. From the intense action scenes to the emotional expressions of the characters, this anime adaptation seems to be trying to maintain the essence of the manga.
Production Staff
The anime is produced by BONES FILM, with Fumihiko Suganuma as the director. Series scripts are written by Hiroshi Seko, who previously worked on Chainsaw Man, Vinland Saga, and Mob Psycho 100. Character design was done by Satoshi Ishino (Date A Live, Release the Spyce), who also serves as the chief animation director.
Meanwhile, Taku Iwasaki is believed to be the composer for the anime's music. He is known for his work in Bungo Stray Dogs, Soul Eater, and Noragami, so the expectation of music Gachiakuta quite high.

Manga Background and Journey
Manga Gachiakuta was first introduced by Kei Urana in Weekly Shōnen Magazine published by Kodansha in February 2022. Since then, the series has continued to gain many fans thanks to its unique world and fresh fighting concepts.
One of the signature elements of this manga is the graffiti design, which became an important part of its visual identity. Hideyoshi Ando is credited as the series' graffiti designer, giving it an aesthetic touch that sets it apart from most other shōnen manga.
As of December 2024, Kodansha has published 13 volumes of manga Gachiakuta in Japan, while Kodansha USA Publishing has released the fifth volume in English in January 2025.
