What if an anime was produced almost entirely with the help of AI? Hinahima Twins is the latest animation project that attempts to answer this question by incorporating artificial intelligence in almost every aspect of its production.
More than just a technological experiment, this anime also tackles themes that are highly relevant to today's digital generation: the world of social media and the desire to go viral. Through an AI-based production approach and a story concept that is close to modern life, Hinahima Twins is an exciting spectacle for anime fans and tech enthusiasts alike.
Story
Hinahima Twins following the story Himari and Hinana, two twin girls who were in their first year of high school in Tokyo. They wanted to go viral and started uploading various videos on TikTok, from dance challenges to other entertainment content.
However, the more they engage in the world of social media, the more strange things happen around them. What initially seems like a normal trend turns into something more mysterious. What's really going on behind the scenes of their digital lives?
AI as a Tool to Support Creators
This anime is not only an entertainment project, but also an experiment in integrating AI into the animation industry. More than 95% scene in Hinahima Twins are made using AI, with the final stages still being done manually to ensure the end result is up to industry standards.
This project carries the concept of supportive AIThis is a project where AI is used as a tool to support creators, not replace them. As AI continues to evolve, the project seeks to bridge the gap between creators and technology, increasing efficiency without compromising creativity.

One example of the application of AI in anime production is seen in the creation of key visuals:
- CLIP STUDIO PAINT - To draw the main character before further processing with AI.
- AI Image Processing - To convert photos into anime-style backgrounds before they are refined by the creative team.
- Adobe Illustrator - To create a logo with a distinctive anime look.
- Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects - To process visual effects and the final composition to make it more dynamic.
This approach makes Hinahima Twins as an example of how AI can be a tool that speeds up production and enables the exploration of new methods in animation, without completely replacing the role of humans in the creative process.
