The Coffee Talk franchise is moving into a new format. This time, the series that started as a game by Toge Productions The Indonesian origin comes through Coffee Talk Refill, the official manga that will be published in Japan.
This news comes at a time when the name Coffee Talk is again buzzing ahead of the release of Coffee Talk Tokyo on May 21, 2026. However, Coffee Talk Refill is not a new game, but a spin-off manga that adds to the story of the Coffee Talk world.
Coffee Talk Refill to Be Published in Japan
Based on information on the official page KADOKAWA, Coffee Talk Refill is a full-color manga from the Coffee Talk franchise. The manga is by D.kijima, with Toge Productions listed as the original creator and Chorus Worldwide supervising the work.
Coffee Talk Refill is scheduled to be published on June 5, 2026 in Japan. Previously, the manga was introduced as a digital series on December 27, 2024, before moving on to a physical volume release in 2026.
As of now, the official information available still points to a Japanese release. There has been no separate announcement regarding an Indonesian edition or a global version of the manga.
So Spin-Offs That Add to the Story
The official description says Coffee Talk Refill contains stories that don't appear in the main game. The manga's position exists as a spin-off that expands the world of Coffee Talk, not a full adaptation of the first game.
KADOKAWA also notes that this manga contains spoilers for Coffee Talk and Coffee Talk Episode 2: Hibiscus & Butterfly. The caption suggests that Coffee Talk Refill remains directly connected to the storylines of the two games.
In other words, this manga is here to add another side to the world of Coffee Talk that has already been recognized through the game, not to replace or open up a new main gameplay.
Different from Coffee Talk Tokyo
Coffee Talk Refill and Coffee Talk Tokyo did appear in the same period, but they are on different paths. Coffee Talk Refill comes as an official spin-off manga, while Coffee Talk Tokyo is a new game in the Coffee Talk franchise.
Through a postponement announcement video uploaded on YouTube, Coffee Talk Tokyo is set to arrive on May 21, 2026. On the other hand, Coffee Talk Refill is in the manga format and is scheduled to be published in Japan on June 5, 2026.
That difference in format puts them in a clear position in the same franchise. Coffee Talk Tokyo expands the series through a new game, while Coffee Talk Refill adds to the Coffee Talk world through additional stories in manga format.
