Square Enix has officially presented a demo for Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade This release allows players on both platforms to access the content of game before its full launch.
The availability of this demo is the first step for Square Enix in expanding the reach of their RPG titles to the wider console ecosystem.
Gameplay Content in the Opening Chapter
In this demo, Square Enix gave players access to play opening chapter which is iconic to the game. This section serves as a major introduction to the grand narrative that players will face in the full version.
Players will follow the journey of Cloud Strife, a mercenary, who teams up with the group of underground resistance named Avalanche. The main mission in this demo focuses on the group's attempt to infiltrate and destroy the Mako Reactor. This facility serves as the power source for a dystopian city called Midgar.
The conflict in this demo pits Cloud and his colleagues against the Shinra Electric Power Company. This organization is described as a shadowy company that holds control over the planet's energy. The fight against Shinra in this demo will bring the main characters into a larger conflict that will later determine the fate of the planet.
Final Fantasy VII Remake Demo Access Intergrade
For those of you using Xbox Series consoles, the demo is available right now. You can find and download the demo file directly via Microsoft Store. This process requires no additional steps and you can start the installation on your console immediately.
Meanwhile, Switch 2 users will need to take slightly different steps to get their hands on the demo. Square Enix does not provide a direct open download option on the main page of the digital store. You'll need to enter a specific code through the “Redeem Code” option found on the Nintendo eShop.
The codes provided are divided based on the region or regions of the Nintendo account you're using.

Players who complete or have data save of this demo on their consoles will get special benefits. Square Enix is providing bonus items that can be claimed in the full game. These items consist of “Revival Earrings” and “Survival Set”. These two items are set up as incentives for players who have tried the demo version before purchasing the full version.
Regarding the launch schedule, Final Fantasy VII Remake Intergrade is scheduled for a full release for Xbox Series and Switch 2 on January 22, 2026. In addition to these two consoles, the PC version of the game will also be available via Microsoft Store from the same date.
Currently, the game is available for PlayStation 5 and PC platforms via Steam and Epic Games Store. The January 2026 release will complete the game's availability on major platforms.
