HoYoverse announced a major update Luna I version of Genshin Impact titled "Song of the Welkin Moon: Segue" with a release date of September 10. New content includes the Nod-Krai region, three new characters, a Kuuvahki-based exploration and combat reaction system, an overhaul of progression up to Level 100, and a series of 5th anniversary rewards.
Nod-Krai and Kuuvahki Region
Nod-Krai introduces three islands north of Teyvat, accessible after completing the Mondstadt main story and reaching Adventure Rank 28, or continuing the Archon Quest after completing Liyue. Kuuvahki is an ancient elemental force that permeates nature and living things.
Travelers can utilize Kuuvahki from plants, mechanisms, to ground level to solve puzzles and unlock routes. The temporary transformation into Kuuhenki allows for quick glides in fog and Moonlanes, adding a variety of exploration that feels fresh without changing the game's identity.
Advanced Archon Quest and Fatui
The main plot features Lauma of the Frostmoon Scions in an attempt to block Fatui's plans. Flins appears to help deal with the "Wild Hunt," while Nasha Town becomes a meeting point for new characters. The appearance of Harbinger "Marionette" aka Sandrone reinforces Fatui's focus on "moon power."
Columbina-formerly known as "The Damselette"-returns home to Nod-Krai as the "Moon Maiden" who can bless the journey. This escalation of conflict sets the foundation for a wide-ranging story ahead.
Three New Characters and Event Wishes
Lauma (5★, Catalyst, Dendro) introduces a new reaction "Lunar-Bloom." Lunar-Bloom's Verdant Dew mechanic amplifies Bloom-related damage. Its unique bond with fauna unlocks a half-man-half-deer form for agile sprints and jumps.
Flins (5★, Polearm, Electro) offers Lunar-Charged strikes that are flexible between one powerful slash or a barrage of attacks. His role as Lightkeeper allows him to be able to hear the Wild Hunt during exploration.
Aino (4★, Claymore, Hydro) brings her workshop and "Knuckle Duckle" device as cheerful mechanical support; it can be recruited for free through Nod-Krai's Archon Quest. The first half of Event Wishes featured Lauma's banner alongside Nahida's, plus a Sumeru-themed Chronicled Wish. The second half featured Flins, Aino, and Yelan.
QoL, Level 100, and UGC "Miliastra Wonderland"
QoL updates include more diverse Adventure EXP gains, farming materials in the Battle Pass, previewing Artifact locked affixes before they are unlocked, and additional preset party slots. The new item Masterless Stella Fortuna allows the conversion of 5★ Stella Fortuna dupes to push characters past the old cap to Level 100.
The 5th anniversary celebration pack features a free choice of one 5★ character from Standard Wish, Intertwined Fate ×10 from login, Primogems ×1,600 via mail, and two Nod-Krai-themed gadgets. The "Miliastra Wonderland" UGC system is coming to Luna II, complete with a "Miliastra Sandbox" editor for the community to create stages, from simulation to party game to survival, opening up a path of creation that extends the life of gameplay.
