On December 21-22, 2024, two Indonesian representatives, Enzie and FlyingOwnie, competed in an international event FC Pro Festival KeSPA CUP 2024. The tournament was held in Gwangmyeong, South Korea, and brought together six countries: South Korea, China, Japan, Thailand, Jordan, and Indonesia. Despite the intense competition, Indonesia managed to put up a competitive performance and won 3rd place.
Group Stage
In the round Group Stagethe participants were divided into two groups. Indonesia entered Group B with South Korea and China. In the first match against South Korea, FlyingOwnie narrowly lost to Soda with a score of 0-1, while Enzie managed to hold his opponent to a draw.
In the second match against China, both Indonesian players managed to record draws. FlyingOwnie drew 2-2 against Bluejazz, while Enzie held Godbless to 1-1. With these results, Indonesia finished second in Group B and qualified for the Playoffs.
Playoff Round
In the Playoffs that took place on December 22, Indonesia met Japan. It was a close match, beginning with Enzie's loss to Souma. However, FlyingOwnie managed to equalize after winning over Piroshki. Unfortunately, in the third match, Enzie faced Souma again and had to recognize his opponent's superiority. A final score of 2-1 in Japan's favor ended Indonesia's run in the tournament.
Final Results of FC Pro Festival KeSPA CUP 2024
Thailand emerged as champions after beating Japan in the final round with a score of 3-2. Meanwhile, Indonesia was ranked third. Although they did not manage to bring home the title, Enzie and FlyingOwnie's struggle is still worthy of appreciation. This competition is a valuable experience as well as motivation to improve performance in the future.
Enzie said, "I apologize for not being able to bring the international trophy home to Indonesia. Hopefully in the future someone can realize this dream." FlyingOwnie added, "Thank you for your support. We will continue to try to give the best results."
This tournament shows that Indonesia has great potential in esports. With consistent support, more achievements are expected in future international competitions.
