This anime is an adaptation of the light novel A popular story by Tenichi with illustrations by Suzunosuke. The original story was first published on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in April 2018 and continues to this day. The success on the web novel platform prompted the adaptation of the story to print format by Ichijinsha publishing house starting June 2019.
