Yes Boy Kongming! (Japanese title: Paripi Kōmei) is a reverse isekai genre series featuring Zhuge Kongming, a military strategist from the era of Three KingdomsZhuge Kongming, who suddenly woke up in present-day Tokyo. Zhuge Kongming-also known as Zhuge Liang-is a real historical figure. "Kongming" is a courtesy name used in Chinese culture to denote intellectual identity.
In the modern world, Kongming meets Eiko Tsukimi, a young singer who is struggling to build her career in the music industry. Relying on battlefield strategies, Kongming helps Eiko plan the steps to achieve popularity. This tactical approach includes performance management, promotion, and building relationships with audiences.
The storyline combines elements of history, pop music, and the dynamics of the modern entertainment world in one structured narrative. Through the character of Kongming, the series showcases how strategic thinking from the past can be adapted to the context of today's creative industries.
Drama Live-Action TV Series
Adaptation Ya Boy Kongming live action produced by Fuji TV and aired in Japan from September to November 2023. The series has a total of 10 episodes, two less than the anime version that was released in 2022.
The drama follows the main plot of the manga and anime versions. Osamu Mukai plays Zhuge Kongming, while Moka Kamishiraishi plays Eiko Tsukimi. Filming locations are centered in the urban areas of Tokyo, featuring a modern atmosphere that sets the scene for Eiko's struggle to pursue her dreams in music.

About Ya Boy Kongming!
Yes Boy Kongming! is a manga by Yuto Yotsuba with illustrations by Ryo Ogawa. The manga was first published in December 2019 and continues to this day. To date, 21 volumes have been released in Japan, with 19 of them available in English.
Anime Yes Boy Kongming! airs in 2022 and follows the main plot of the manga. A live-action film adaptation has also been released in Japan in April 2025, continuing the story from the TV drama version with the same cast.
Attendance live action Ya Boy Kongming series at Netflix marks the latest expansion of the franchise into wider viewing formats globally.
