Netflix Japan officially announced the production of the series anime latest original entitled Love Through a Prism (Prism Rondo). The announcement was made on Thursday. The series is scheduled to make its global broadcast debut on January 15, coinciding with the middle of the Winter season.
This anime is in the spotlight because it brings together Yoko Kamio, the creator of the legendary manga Boys Over Flowers, This is a collaboration with the renowned animation studio, WIT Studio.
Love Through a Prism Storyline
The story in Love Through a Prism takes place in London in the early 1900s. This anime carries the genre coming-of-age love story or a love story and coming of age that focuses on the dynamics of the art world.
The main narrative centers on a character named Lili Ichijoin. She is described as an aspiring painter and art student who is studying. Lili has a strong motivation because she is bound by a promise with her parents. She must become the best student in her art school within half a year. If she fails to meet this target, she will have to give up her dream and return home.
The conflict of the story grows when Lili begins a fierce rivalry with a character named Kit Church. Kit is described as a wealthy heiress and genius artist who has a free-spirited nature.freewheeling). The interaction between these two characters with different backgrounds is the core of the story presented.

Yoko Kamio's Full Involvement in Production
Yoko Kamio holds significant creative control in this anime. She is solely responsible for the story and the original character designs. Not only that, Kamio is also directly involved in the script writing along with writer Saki Fujii.
This deep involvement is supported by Kamio's reputation in the manga industry. Guinness World Records honored his manga, Boys Over Flowers (Hana Yori Dango), as a manga shoujo with the highest number of print runs written by a single author in 2023.
Kamio's track record of work has proven to be successful across various media. Manga Boys Over Flowers has been adapted into anime and movies live-action Japan in 1995. Later, the hugely popular Japanese television drama was released in 2005, which went on to spawn sequels and hit movies.
The story's success also extended to the international arena through various adaptations live-action. Taiwan produced a university drama version titled Meteor Garden. Crunchyroll airs the adaptation of live-action Korean version in 2011.
Hunan Television is producing an adaptation of the series live-action China in 2018, and Thai television production company GMMTV produced the series live-action which premiered in 2021. In addition, a Filipino adaptation was also announced in November 2017.
Off screen, the manga also inspired a stage musical adaptation in Japan in 2016 and a new musical adaptation by Takarazuka Revue in 2019.
