Anime adaptation My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's (Assassin de Aru Ore no Status ga Yūsha Yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi Nodaga) has been announced by Wright Film, with studio SUNRISE handling production. The series adapted from light novel Matsuri Akai's work is scheduled to air in October 2025. Along with this announcement, a visual teaser and teaser trailer have also been released.
Brief Synopsis
The story centers on Oda Akira, a student who tends not to stand out and is often forgotten by those around him. However, his life changes drastically when his entire class is summoned to another world. In this new world, each individual is given a unique role and ability. Akira is assigned the role of an assassin, with the following status which is much higher than the hero.
As he begins to explore the world, Akira notices various irregularities. He discovers that the world system is not what it seems, and as he digs deeper, he uncovers a secret royal plan. This discovery brings him into direct conflict with the king who has summoned them. Along the way, he encounters Amelia Rosequart, a young elven spirit medium who later became his allies.

Before it was adapted into an anime, My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's was originally published as a web novel by Matsuri Akai in January 2017. Later on, Overlap Bunko began publishing it as a light novel with illustrations by Tōzai in November 2017. In addition, the series has also been adapted in the form of manga, with Hiroyuki Aigamo as the illustrator.
As part of the celebration of the anime adaptation announcement, Tōzai and Hiroyuki Aigamo have shared a special illustration created specifically to celebrate the project.
With an airdate set for October 2025, this anime will be one of the isekai adaptations ready to arrive that year.
