Story and Trailer
Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table tells the story of a girl named Yuuki who wakes up in a mysterious building. She is wearing a maid uniform and lying on a luxurious bed. At the location, she finds five other girls in similar conditions. This place is called "Ghost House."
To survive, they had to get past various deadly traps such as blowguns, buzz saws, locked rooms, and other weapons. While the other girls panicked, Yuuki remained calm as the game was part of her job as a participant. death game professional since the age of 17.

About Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table
This anime is adapted from the light novel Playing Death Games to Put Food on the Table (Shibō Yūgi de Meshi o Kuu) by Yushi Ukai, with illustrations by Nekometaru. The first volume was published by Kadokawa through the MF Bunko J label in November 2022.
It won the Excellence Award in the 18th MF Bunko J Light Novel Newcomer Award, and was subsequently ranked #1 in the New Title category on the Kono Light Novel ga Sugoi! 2024 of Takarajimasha.
The manga adaptation of the series was done by Banzai Kotobuki Daienkai, and began publication in the magazine Comp Ace by Kadokawa in April 2023. The third volume of the manga was released on February 26, 2025.
The English version of this light novel has been licensed by Yen Press.
