KONAMI has released Suikoden I & II HD Remaster Gate Rune and Dunan Unification Wars across multiple platforms, including Nintendo Switch, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, as well as PC through Steam, Microsoft Games, and Epic Games. This remastered version brings a variety of visual, audio and additional feature enhancements to provide a more optimized gaming experience without changing the essence of the original game.
Story
Two epic tales return in HD with stories that retain their narrative depth. Each game brings an adventure filled with political intrigue, betrayal, and friendship. Both protagonists must face great battles that determine the fate of their worlds.
Suikoden I Gate Rune War
A once revered hero turns into a ruthless tyrant, causing the empire he leads to decline. As the empire becomes more and more oppressive to its people, a rebel group known as the Liberation Army rose up to fight injustice. Along the way, one by one 108 Stars of Destiny gathered, forming an army that would change the course of history.
Suikoden II Dunan Unification War
A young man and his best friend, Jowy, are members of the Unicorn Youth Brigade-units deployed in a long conflict between Highland Kingdom and City-States of Jowstown. After a grueling war, both sides finally signed a peace treaty that brought new hope. However, underneath the tranquility, a devious plan is put into action. The embers of war were reignited, leading them into an even bigger and more treacherous conflict.

Visual Enhancement with Pixel Sprite HD
The entire in-game interface has been updated with pixel sprite more detailed. Lighting effects, shadows, and animations such as fire, smoke, and the movement of leaves are now more realistic, creating a more lifelike atmosphere.
Updated Character Design
The character portraits in the game have been redrawn in HD resolution by Junko Kawano, the original illustrator from Suikoden first. With this redesign, the expressions of the characters have become more vivid and profound.
Field Sound and Battle Sound Improvements
- Field Sound The game now includes environmental sound elements such as river water flowing, wind blowing, and footsteps that are more detailed than the original version. With these additions, in-game exploration feels more immersive.
