After a long wait, Kojima Productions confirmed that Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will be available to gamers on June 26, 2025. Like its predecessor, this game will be available exclusively for PlayStation 5, although it is possible that it will be released on other platforms such as PC.
New Trailer and Story Details Death Stranding 2
At SXSW 2025 panelHideo Kojima presents a new 10-minute trailer that gives an in-depth look at the gameplay and storyline of Death Stranding 2.
The trailer features the return of main characters such as Sam Bridges (played by Norman Reedus), Fragile (Léa Seydoux), and Higgs (Troy Baker). New characters such as Tomorrow (Elle Fanning), Rainy (Shioli Kutsuna), and Tarman (George Miller) are also introduced.
Death Stranding 2's story is set 11 months after the formation of the United Cities of America. The game world features a changed environment due to the chiralium from The Beach, as well as the emergence of new factions that pose a threat to our protagonist.
While specific details regarding the plot are still under wraps, the trailer gives hints of the new challenges and enemies that Sam and his comrades will face.

Hideo Kojima revealed that the global experience during the COVID-19 pandemic influenced the narrative direction of Death Stranding 2. As part of the launch celebration for Death Stranding 2, Kojima Productions announced a world concert tour titled "The Strands of Harmony". The tour will visit 19 cities and feature music from the game performed by a live orchestra and singers.
The tour is scheduled to kick off on November 8, 2025, in Sydney, Australia, providing a unique experience for fans to experience the game's music live.
