What's the Story Behind Detective Conan: One-Eyed Flashback?
The story begins in the snowy mountains of Yatsugatake in Nagano, Japan. Yamato Kanzuke, an inspector from the Nagano police force, is chasing a mysterious man. In the process of the chase, a flare projectile is fired, causing loss of vision in one of his eyes. Shortly afterward, a massive avalanche buried Kanzuke under the snow. After ten months, Kanzuke was found alive, despite losing the sight in his left eye. This incident triggered a more in-depth investigation.
A few months after the incident, there was an attack on Tenma Station, a national astronomical observatory in Nagano. Yui Uehara, a colleague of Yamato Kanzuke, led the investigation at this location. Kanzuke, who was still alive after the avalanche incident, began to feel intense pain in his injured eye. The presence of a giant satellite dish at the observatory was one of the main clues linking the case.
On the other hand, Detective Mouri's office receives a call from Wani, a former police officer who claims to be investigating an incident involving Kanzuke. Wani mentions that Kogoro Mori's name is listed in the case documents. Kogoro and Conan head to the location of the scheduled meeting with Wani, but the atmosphere turns tense when gunshots are heard, signaling the start of a new round of investigations.
