Nihon Falcom officially announced Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter, the full remake version of The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky SC and a continuation of Trails in the Sky 1st Chapter.
According to Gematsu, Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter is scheduled to launch worldwide on Fall 2026. This game was announced for PlayStation 5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC via Steam. The exact date details have not been mentioned, so the schedule is still a seasonal release window.

A platform list that includes PS5, Switch 2, Switch, and PC signals that Falcom is targeting a wide audience, including console and PC players. The simultaneous presence of Switch 2 and Switch versions usually means a cross-generational release scale, although technical details such as resolution, frame rate, or performance differences between devices have not been explained in this announcement.
In terms of language, this announcement contains quite clear details:
- Voice-over: English and Japanese available on all platforms.
- Text (console): English, German, French, Spanish.
- Text (PC): English, Japanese, German, French, Spanish.
The difference in captioning support on PC that lists Japanese, while consoles don't have it on the same list, still needs to be monitored through further information. The announcement also doesn't address region-by-region subtitle options, possible language patches, or country-by-country digital distribution policies.

Trails in the Sky 2nd Chapter
The story focuses again on Estelle Bright who went on a journey in Liberl to uncover the reasons Joshua disappeared, while facing the organization Ouroboros. The narrative builds from the aftermath of the coup crisis, then moves towards the larger threat, including images of situations such as the capital city on fire and the appearance of large airships. This focus of the story aligns with SC's position as a chapter that continues the core conflict directly.
In addition to the story, the following list of features and gameplay were also announced by Nihon Falcom:
- Carry over clear data from 1st Chapter to obtain bonus items. This scheme encourages a sequential play experience, as the progress of the previous game has an impact.
- Wider combat options through the addition of Crafts and S-Crafts, plus mechanics Brave Rush that connects attacks when Quick Battles. System orbment is still referred to as the access point to Arts, so the foundation of the series' signature combat is still maintained.
- Side content is said to be more playable, including minigames such as fishing and poker, peer-to-peer cooking, and favorite characters.
