The animated film Warkop DKI Kartun produced by Falcon Pictures will hit Indonesian theaters starting June 26, 2025. The movie brings back the legendary characters Dono, Kasino, and Indro in an animated format as part of an effort to reintroduce Warkop DKI's work to a new generation of viewers.
Story and Trailer
Warkop DKI Kartun follows Dono, Kasino, and Indro as agents of CHIIPS (How to Greatly Engage in Social Problem Solving). They are assigned three different missions. In the first mission, they disguise themselves as Indonesian national team players in a World Cup qualifying match taking place in the fictional country of West Korea to thwart a conspiracy that could potentially trigger a global conflict.
In the next mission, they face a robot of their own creation that turns into a menace. In the third mission, the trio disguises themselves as elementary school students to expose the practice of cheating in national exams. These three missions are executed with the Warkop trio's signature approach.
The official Warkop DKI Kartun trailer has been released and features footage complete with colorful cartoon animation and comedic elements that are characteristic of Warkop DKI.

About Warkop DKI Cartoon
Warkop DKI Kartun is an animated adaptation of the legendary comedy group Warkop DKI. The name "Warkop" comes from the abbreviation of Coffee Shop, a place synonymous with casual folk talk.
The group began as a comedy radio program on Radio Prambors in the 1970s under the name Warkop Prambors, then evolved into a popular comedy film group. The addition of "DKI" refers to the names of its three members-Dono, Kasino, Indro-and is also a pun on Special Capital Region.
Warkop DKI has been widely known in Indonesia since the late 1970s through radio broadcasts, feature films, and television shows filled with sitcom humor and social criticism.
Before coming to the big screen version, Falcon Pictures had released the series Warkop DKI Cartoons: The Series on Disney+ Hotstar on May 10, 2021. The series features Dono, Kasino, and Indro as CHIIPS agents and consists of 13 short-lived episodes.
The Warkop DKI Kartun film is an expansion of the series, with a larger production scale and intended for cinema viewing. This project is part of the continuity of Warkop DKI's work in an animated medium that is more suitable for today's viewing format.
