Publisher SEGA and developer Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio officially released the demo version for Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties. This launch gives players a chance to experience the visual and narrative updates on offer before their full release.
For those of you who want to see Kazuma Kiryu and Yoshitaka Mine in action with modern graphics, the demo is available for download now.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Demo Launch Schedule
Demo access for PC users via Steam has opened early since yesterday. Meanwhile, for those of you using PlayStation 5, Xbox Series, and the latest Switch 2 platform, demo access is scheduled to be available starting today, January 22 at 12:00 a.m. ET (or around 12:00 p.m. GMT).
This release strategy ensures availability game in various major gaming ecosystems to keep servers and data distribution running smoothly.
It is important to note that game data or save data from this demo cannot be transferred to full game. Players will have to restart the progress from the beginning when the original game is released later.
This demo is purely intended as preview for players to experience the mechanics gameplay and atmosphere of the story without bringing the progress to the final version.
Gameplay Content in Demo Version
In this demo, players will be presented with two different experiences in one package. On Kiryu's side, you can experience the dynamic transition between the “Dragon of Dojima: Kiwami” style and the weapon-based “Ryukyu” style.
In addition to combat, players can also try out the customization features and the minigame iconic karaoke. While on the Yoshitaka Mine side, you can experience the unique and tactical “shoot-boxing” fighting style as you explore the streets of Kamurocho.
Two Titles in One Release
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties is positioned as a package that contains two separate experiences. Yakuza Kiwami 3 is tasked with reintroducing the story of Kazuma Kiryu who is trying to protect those closest to him in Tokyo and Okinawa.
This version features the series' signature street fights Like a Dragon, exploration of entertainment districts, and minigame that characterized the series from the start.
Dark Ties stands as a new story that shifts the focus to Yoshitaka Mine. The narrative follows his journey from start-up entrepreneur to hardened and influential yakuza figure.
Attendance Dark Ties provides additional context for a figure who was previously known as the main antagonist in Yakuza 3, As a result, this package is geared towards reaching out to new players as well as existing players.
These two parts are claimed to complement each other. Yakuza Kiwami 3 provides the foundation of the main story and setting Okinawa, while Dark Ties offers another perspective of Kamurocho through the internal conflicts of the yakuza world. This approach blends elements of remake with the new material without separating the two into separate releases.
Yakuza Kiwami 3 & Dark Ties Release Date
After trying out the demo, you won't have to wait too long to play the full version. The game is scheduled for a full release on February 12.
