thatgamecompany announced the airing of The Two Embers: Part One, the latest animated movie that will come directly in the game Sky: Children of the Light. The movie is divided into four weekly chapters and is scheduled to begin airing on July 21, 2025.
Story and Trailer
The Two Embers: Part One tells the story of two children from different times who are connected by fate in a world plagued by darkness. One of the main characters is an orphan who travels with an injured manatee.
The film is entirely delivered without dialog (wordless) and tackles themes such as sadness, anger, and kindness. The story is divided into two main parts, and the first part that will air brings focus on the emotional connection between the characters and their environment.

Virtual Cinema in Sky World
Viewing The Two Embers is done directly in-game through the Sky Cinema feature, a virtual movie theater that allows thousands of players to watch movies simultaneously in one digital space. This technology was first introduced during the AURORA concert and its Encore event at Gamescom, connecting more than 10,000 players in one server in real-time. The innovation made Sky: Children of the Light achieved two world records from Guinness World Records and became the foundation of Sky Cinema.
