Sekiro is back with the latest anime update SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT. The anime revealed a new trailer, additional voice cast, theme song, and confirmed theatrical release in Japan in 2026. For global airings, Sekiro will be available exclusively on Crunchyroll.

New Trailer for Sekiro: No Defeat Reveals Showtimes and Story

New trailer SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT confirmed that anime is coming in 2026. Outside of Japan, the anime will air exclusively on Crunchyroll. Meanwhile, Japan will get a nationwide theatrical release in the same year.

Anime story Sekiro set in the Sengoku era, when Japan was divided into many regions that were constantly at war. In the middle of that situation is Ashina, the land at the center of the story.

The anime's official synopsis explains that two decades after Isshin Ashina seized the territory in a brutal coup, a new threat emerges from the Interior Ministry. In an effort to protect his land, Genichiro Ashina turns to forbidden powers.

Hope then rests on a kidnapped child, the Divine Heir, and his loyal protector, the shinobi known as Sekiro. The story follows the relationship between the young lord and his bodyguard in an effort to restore balance in a land that is on the brink of destruction.

The Voice Cast of Sekiro: No Defeat Adds Five New Names

The latest update also announced five additional voice cast members for the anime. These names complete the line-up of important characters that will appear in the story.

Here's the list of additional cast announced:

  • Jin Urayama as Sculptor
  • Shizuka Ito as Emma
  • Akimitsu Takase as Hanbei
  • Takaya Hashi as Owl
  • Tetsuo Kanao as Isshin Ashina

Previously, three main casts were also announced for the central characters in the story:

  • Daisuke Namikawa as Wolf
  • Miyuki Satou as Kuro / Divine Heir
  • Kenjiro Tsuda as Genichiro Ashina

The Japanese voice actors from the game also return to portray the same characters in the anime version.

Previously, the production has also confirmed that this anime was made without use generative AI. These details remain an important part of the anime's official information.

Global airing on Crunchyroll

For distribution, SEKIRO: NO DEFEAT will air exclusively on Crunchyroll globally in 2026. This is outside of Japan, China, Korea, Russia, and Belarus.

Meanwhile, Japan will get a nationwide theatrical release in 2026. With these details, the anime Sekiro now comes with more information ahead of its release.
