Synopsis of Reborn as a Space Mercenary
The English version of the light novel and manga Reborn as a Space Mercenary has been licensed by Seven Seas Entertainment. Based on the official description shared, the story follows Sato Takahiro, who moves from his ordinary life to his favorite gaming world.
In that world, he lives as Hiro, a mercenary who controls a powerfully equipped spaceship. The story moves amidst space battles, interstellar colonies, space pirates, rescues, and various other problems as he lives his new life.

Reborn as a Space Mercenary: I Woke Up Piloting the Strongest Starship first started as a web novel by Ryuto on the Shosetsuka ni Naro website in February 2019.
After that, the series was acquired by Fujimi Shobo and published as a light novel with illustrations by Tetsuhiro Nabeshima starting July 2019. As of December 2025, the light novel has 16 volumes. The 17th volume is scheduled to be published in May 2026.
The series also has a manga adaptation by Shinichi Matsui that began serializing on Kadokawa's ComicWalker since November 2019. As of March 23, 2026, the manga has reached 11 volumes.
