Tokyo Game Show 2026 will feature three games from Norwegian developers at the Norwegian Games booth. This showcase is organized by Norwegian Film Institute (NFI) as part of an effort to introduce Norwegian games to an international audience.
The lineup includes Life Below, Hello Sunshine, and Mechjestic. The three games feature underwater city-building, a survival mystery RPG, and a steampunk-inspired roguelike deckbuilder.
Life Below — Megapop
Life Below From Megapop comes a city-building game set underwater. Players will save coral reefs, restore collapsed ecosystems, and build vibrant marine habitats.
This game features a narrative by Rhianna Pratchett. In the story, players become the last hope for the dying ocean with the help of a mysterious power called the Reef Heart.
Players can create lures to attract various species to their reef and use those species’ natural abilities to navigate underwater dangers. Life Below also features a campaign mode that follows Thalassa’s journey, as well as a free-play mode with new challenges.
Hello Sunshine — Red Thread Games
Hello Sunshine from Red Thread Games is a survival mystery RPG set in the ruins of a corporate empire. Players take on the role of the last remaining employee who must reach the tower at the end of the road and determine the fate of the world that remains.
Players will walk in the shadow of a giant robot to escape the extreme heat during the day. When night falls, players must stay close to the robot to survive the cold.
Hello Sunshine's gameplay includes scavenging, crafting, upgrading, and survival. When the robot stops to recharge, players can set up camp, craft new gear, and repair the mechanical guardian.
Mechjestic — Skinny Bandit
Mechjestic From Skinny Bandit comes a steampunk-inspired roguelike deckbuilder featuring Frolein the frog and her mech, Iron Tadpole. Players will battle insectoids and invaders through card-based combat.
In this game, players collect cards, build customizable mechs, and use strategic planning to take on enemies. The main goal is to save the timeline from the invaders.
Mechjestic also features a refuel system, a mechanic that allows players to turn unfavorable card results into new opportunities.
Norwegian Games Booth at the Tokyo Game Show 2026
The Norwegian Games booth will be located in Main Hall 8 at Makuhari Messe in Japan. The booth will be open throughout the Tokyo Game Show 2026, which takes place September 17–21, 2026.
At the booth, NFI will showcase Life Below, Hello Sunshine, and Mechjestic to event attendees.
