E3 Officially Closed in December 2023

Exhibition trade The famous video game event, E3, has officially closed. This announcement was made by the Entertainment Software Association (ESA), the organization that oversees E3, on 12 December 2023. Stanley Pierre-Louis, CEO of ESA, said in a statement:
After more than two decades of being the exhibition center for the US and global video game industry, ESA decided to end E3.
Going forward, Pierre-Louis stated that ESA's focus and priority will remain on advocating for ESA member companies and the industry's workforce that drive positive cultural and economic impact.
Actually, this news is not surprising. As we all know that E3 was last held in 2019.
One year later, annual trade show was canceled due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Since then, efforts to bring the event back have never materialized.
In March, it seemed that E3 had truly resigned itself to this, as the ESA again canceled the event for 2023, citing a lack of "sustained interest."
This comes after several leading video game companies, including Nintendo, Sony, and Microsoft, decided to no longer participate in the exhibition.

Indeed, the video game market as a whole has changed drastically since E3 was first held as a private industry event in 1995.
Currently, all major gaming companies are focusing more on their own events, such as Nintendo Direct and Sony State of Play, to showcase their products, there was no reason for them to participate in E3.
Nonetheless, for at least two decades, E3 has been an exciting video game expo event in which gamer can interact directly and watch live speeches.
Trade showThis annual event, which attracts tens of thousands of attendees each year, has also given us many epic moments in gaming history, including the debut of the Sega Saturn and the moment Sony criticized Xbox.
Before it was over, Pierre-Louis also had a few words to say to The Washington Post:
We know it's hard to say goodbye to a much-loved show, but it's the right thing to do considering the new opportunities our industry has to reach fans and partners.
Although E3 is officially closed, we need to admit that E3 has accompanied the gamers to explore the world of new games every year with epic events.
