The latest spin-off of the Gintama franchise has been announced with an official airdate. Anime titled GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class will begin airing in October 2025. Before the regular airing, this anime first made a world premiere at Anime Expo 2025.
Story and Trailer
GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class is adapted from a spin-off novel by Tomohito Ōsaki that was first published in 2006. The story takes place at Gintama High School, with Ginpachi Sakata as a teacher. His personality, which does not match the teaching profession, makes his interactions with the students a major source of comedy.
A new trailer has been released featuring story footage and key visuals. The trailer also includes two theme songs. The opening "Sakurakaze" is sung by BOTCHI BOROMARU, while the ending "Underclass HERO" is performed by LONGMAN.

About GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class
Concept GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class (3-Nen Z-Gumi Ginpachi-Sensei) previously appeared in short form in several episodes of the anime Gintama. This adaptation is a full project scheduled to air on October 6, 2025.
In addition, the latest novel in this spin-off series will be released on October 3, 2025 with the title Oide yo Rinkan Gakkō (Going on a School Camp).
Hideaki Sorachi's Gintama franchise began in 2003 and ended in 2019. The manga is in circulation with over 55 million copies, and has been adapted into 367 television anime episodes, three anime movies, several OVAs, and two live-action movies.
In this spin-off adaptation, Hideaki Sorachi remains listed as the original creator (original work credit), while Tomohito Ōsaki is the author of the adapted novel.
As part of the continuation of the franchise, GINTAMA - Mr. Ginpachi's Zany Class presents the main character in a school setting with a full anime format.
