Death Stranding 2: On the Beach will certainly be more absurd than before. This was stated directly by Hideo Kojima at the "Death Stranding 2" Special Stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2024. Not only that, Nicholas Winding Refn who also played the character Heartman in Death Stranding and Death Stranding 2: On the Beach also confirmed this when he was on stage with Kojima.
Although there was no gameplay demo, Kojima did reveal some new information regarding the game Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, one of which is the photo mode. Unlike the photo mode in other games, in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach the character to be photographed can pose creatively like a model and gamers can use their creative imagination to take photos with the most interesting poses using a polaroid camera.
Although not directly mentioned, it is possible that this photo mode is not just a gimmick feature, but will affect the story and gameplay. This is because Kojima himself said that the photos produced are not just "souvenirs" in the game.
Two New Characters
In addition to introducing the photo mode, Kojima also introduced two new characters in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, Tomorrow and Rainy. Both are seen as part of the crew of the DHV Magellan, a state-of-the-art ship that will be the player's main base and has the ability to cross the "beach" and "tar" which are described as other dimensions in the Death Stranding world.
Tomorrow is played by Elle Fanning, while Rainy is played by Shioli Kutsuna. The two characters are shown to be very close and in one of the video clips, Rainy is shown to be pregnant and we all know that pregnancy and childbirth are very dangerous processes in the world of Death Stranding.
Music Video Feature
One of the highlights of the "Death Stranding 2" Special Stage event at Tokyo Game Show 2024 is the presence of Miura Daichi, a renowned Japanese musician. Miura will also be present in Death Stranding 2: On the Beach, but not as a character but he will present a special song and dance together with Dollman. The feature to watch Miura's music video is said to be accessible through a private room in DVS Magellan.
Dollman himself is a doll-shaped character who will accompany Sam while exploring the world of Death Stranding 2: On the Beach which is said to be darker and more brutal. Apart from Dollman, there is also Tarman who is shown as the only person who can control DVS Magellan.

Death Stranding 2: On the Beach still leaves a lot of mystery. Starting from its very absurd trailer, to the mystery of how the Death Stranding world can be formed. Hopefully, everything will be answered when Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is released in 2025 for PlayStation 5.
