The MARRIAGETOXIN manga from the Shonen Jump+ platform has officially been announced to be getting a TV anime adaptation. The project is scheduled to air in 2026, with the announcement accompanied by the release of a teaser trailer and first visuals.

MARRIAGETOXIN Story and First Trailer

MARRIAGETOXIN presents the premise of Hikaru Gero, a professional assassin who hails from a clan of poison users. An expert in his profession, Gero has no experience in love affairs and intends to never marry. The situation changes when his clan orders his younger brother to produce a successor.

Gero refuses to let his sister sacrifice her love, so he takes over the task. To do so, he must seek the help of a wedding swindler named Mei Kinosaki. With Kinosaki's guidance, Gero, who is trained as an assassin, must learn to be a charming man in order to find a future wife. The teaser trailer that has been released also shows an early glimpse of the visuals and atmosphere that the anime will carry.

Project anime MARRIAGETOXIN is produced by animation studio BONES FILM. The main staff and voice actors involved in this production have also been announced.

The MARRIAGETOXIN manga is written by Joumyaku and illustrated by Mizuki Yoda. The series has been published on Shueisha's Shonen Jump+ app and website since April 2022. As of August 2025, the manga has been compiled into 14 tankōbon volumes.

Its popularity has made the manga available globally as well. International readers can officially access it in English through Shueisha's MANGA Plus app, and the series has also been licensed by Viz Media. With production details already announced and popular source material, the anime adaptation of MARRIAGETOXIN is one of the most anticipated titles of 2026.
