The Computer Entertainment Supplier's Association (CESA) released new data on the organization of Tokyo Game Show 202(TGS 2025). This time, the focus was on the digital broadcast reach that was a huge success, complementing the data from the live event that was completed last September.
TGS 2025 Digital Broadcast Hits 6 Million Viewers
According to the official announcement, the total audience for all official TGS 2025 programs broadcast online reached 6,069,656 viewers. This figure is the accumulated result of the measurement period between September 24 and October 16, 2025, covering both live and archived broadcasts.
This achievement was supported by the distribution of broadcasts through various platforms. In addition to the official TGS channels on YouTube, X, Niconico, and Twitch, broadcasts were also expanded through strategic partnerships. For audiences in China, TGS worked with the DouYu and bilibili platforms.
Meanwhile, for audiences in North America and Europe, content is distributed through IGN. Most programs also provide simultaneous English and Chinese translation options to ensure accessibility for international audiences.
TGS 2025 at Makuhari Messe Attended by Hundreds of Thousands of Visitors
These digital achievements complement the data from the on-site event. Held at Makuhari Messe from September 25 to 28, TGS 2025 recorded total 263,101 visitors. With the theme "Unlimited, Neverending Playground", the event also saw the participation of 1,136 exhibitors from 47 countries and regions.
Business activity on-site was also very active, with the TGS Business Matching System facilitating 3,591 appointments between industry players. As additional content, a special video featuring official supporter Kanata Hongo while touring the TGS 2025 venue has also been released to recapture the atmosphere and energy of the event.
TGS 2026 Will Come in a New 5-Day Format
Along with the event recap, CESA has also announced big plans for next year. Tokyo Game Show 2026 will be organized in a new format during five days, from Thursday, September 17 to Monday, September 21, 2026. This will be the first time in history that TGS has been held for such a long duration.
With a combination of on-site success and incredible digital reach, TGS 2025 once again cemented its position as one of the most important gaming fairs in the world. All eyes are now on TGS 2026, which, with its new format, promises an even greater evolution.
