The main trailer shows footage from My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's with the opening song titled "Issen" (Flash) by virtual duo VESPERBELL. In the trailer, the main character Akira Oda is portrayed as an assassin who acts in another world, alongside Amelia Rosequart, a spirit elf.
The trailer also introduces three new characters:
- Yorua black cat-shaped magical creature.
- Lia LagoonA mysterious girl who knows the secret of summoning the protagonists to another world.

My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's adapted from a light novel titled Asashin de Aru no Sutetasu ga Yusha Yori mo Akiraka ni Tsuyoi Nodaga. This series is written by Akai Matsuri and illustrated by Tozai. The novel was originally published as a web novel in January 2017 and began physical publication by Overlap Bunko since November 2017. The manga adaptation was done by Hiroyuki Aigamo.
Light novels and manga My Status as an Assassin Obviously Exceeds the Hero's has been licensed in English by Seven Seas Entertainment. Story follows Akira Oda, a student who was summoned to another world with his entire class. He gains a very high starting status and takes on the role of an assassin. Akira later discovers irregularities in the summoning and investigates the secrets behind the kingdom's actions.
