Sky: Children of the Light presents the latest cinematic content titled The Two Embers - Part 1This season will be available on July 21, 2025. This season brings back Sky's signature visual storytelling style, but this time presented in an in-game cinema format that is directly connected to the gaming experience.

Cinematic Formats in the Game World

The Two Embers - Part 1 presents an emotional story without dialog that can be watched live inside game through the Sky Cinema. The story focuses on an orphan in a world that is beginning to be engulfed in darkness. After watching this movie, players can directly proceed to seasonal quest to explore key moments of the story interactively.

The cinematic format is not new to Sky, but this season is the first to integrate a fully animated movie with a series of quests and exploration together. Jenova Chen, Creative Director and CEO of thatgamecompany stated, "For the first time, we are bringing an animated movie directly into the game world-where players can watch it, then step into the story to explore and experience it for themselves."

Season Update The Two Embers - Part 1

There are several new things you can discover while exploring this season's content:

  • A new companion character in the form of a manatee will accompany the player and respond directly to interactions.
  • The new exploration area is a market village bustling with NPCs and various hidden corners.
  • A collection of seasonal cosmetics such as manatee-themed hats and earrings that reflect the mood of the new location.

Airing and Viewing Schedule The Two Embers - Part 1

Episode The Two Embers - Part 1 will air every Saturday at 19:00 GMT+8 and replay every two hours.

All chapters will also be aired in one full session on August 16 at 09:30 GMT+8, after the event. Sky Creator Awards that takes place in the game.
