Gamescom 2025 will feature the biggest lineup of broadcasts and playable demos of the year. Opening Night Live is the main opener, followed by broadcasts from Xbox, Future Games Show, Awesome Indies, and Bethesda. Highlights include Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, the demo of Hollow Knight: Silksong, Nintendo's return with Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A, as well as many other big titles.
Date and overview
Gamescom 2025 takes place August 20-24 in Cologne, Germany. Public access is open from August 21, while August 20 is for trade visitors, media, and select ticket holders. Opening Night Live (ONL) was held on August 19 to kick things off with new announcements and trailers.

What to expect
Opening Night Live: Hosted by Geoff Keighley, featuring new announcements, trailers, gameplay and developer guests. Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 is confirmed to appear.
Xbox: Two live broadcasts from the Xbox booth. Initial focus on ROG Xbox Ally X (handheld), Grounded 2, Keeper (Double Fine), Call of Duty: Black Ops 7, and highlights The Outer Worlds 2 and Ninja Gaiden 4 in the second broadcast. In the demo area, Xbox also brought Hollow Knight: Silksong (PC and Ally X), Borderlands 4, PowerWash Simulator 2, Cronos: The New Dawn, Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater, Super Meat Boy 3D, There Are No Ghosts at the Grand, and more.
Nintendo: Back comes with demos for Switch and Switch 2, including Metroid Prime 4: Beyond and Pokémon Legends Z-A.
Another publisher: Bandai Namco brought hands-on demos of Little Nightmares 3 and "The Blood of Dawnwalker" experience. There were also Crimson Desert and various other titles on the exhibition floor.
Indies: "Gamescom Awesome Indies" will highlight exclusive trailers, first looks at gameplay, and exciting new arrivals from the global indie scene.
Future Games Show: Hosted by David Hayter (Metal Gear Solid) and Maggie Robertson (Resident Evil Village), with FGS Live afterwards and FGS Best Of Gamescom to round off the week.
Bethesda: A multi-day livestream series from the Xbox area, featuring developer interviews, game showcases, community segments, event tours, and crafting highlights.
How to watch
Most broadcasts are available on YouTube and Twitch. Xbox broadcasts are also present on TikTok. If time zones are less friendly (especially for JST and WIB), VODs/archives are usually available shortly after the broadcast ends on the respective official channels.
Important notes
Schedule information is subject to change closer to the D-day, especially Bethesda's showtime (TBC). Check the organizers' official channels (YouTube/Twitch) for final confirmation closer to the broadcast. If you plan to attend in person, prioritize hands-on slots for popular titles like Hollow Knight: Silksong, Metroid Prime 4: Beyond, Little Nightmares 3, and Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater as queues are expected to be high.
