The official announcement confirmed that the spinoff manga titled Fist of the North Star: Elegy of Ken-Oh's Army Grunts (Hokuto no Ken: Ken'ō-gun Zako-tachi no Banka) will be adapted into a short anime. Unlike the main series which is full of intense drama, this project takes on a comedic genre.
The story centers on the protagonist named Nobu, who lives the life of an ordinary lowly soldier within the dreaded Ken-Oh army. Set in the year 199X after the nuclear apocalypse, the anime will explore Nobu's struggle to survive in an extremely dangerous work environment, where mortality rates even outnumber job applicants.
The comedic premise is even supported by a witty tagline: "Three meals a day, room and board provided by the company, no experience necessary!"

According to the announcement in the special event "Itʼs Fist of the North Star Day! Gather Around, All Four Brothers!!", the short anime is scheduled to begin airing and be available through streaming services in January 2026.

About the Original Manga Spinoff
This anime is adapted from the original manga by Hiroshi Kurao. Manga Elegy of Ken-Oh's Army Grunts was first launched through Coamix's Manga Hot app in November 2017. The serialization ran for more than two years before finally ending in February 2020. The entire story has been summarized in three volumes tankobon (compilation books), with the final volume being released in March 2020.
