Now the world of Pokémon Trading Card Game (TCG) in Indonesia is getting lively with the presence of the latest series entitled "Mega Evolution". This expansion was officially launched by AKG Entertainment as Pokémon's Master Licensee and also the official distributor of Pokémon TCG starting Friday, September 26, 2025. The card will be available at various Local Game Shops and retail outlets in Indonesia.
In the "Mega Evolution" series, cards are introduced. Pokémon MA, which will replace the expansion Scarlet & Violet (SV) which has been around since 2023. These new cards bring unique mechanics as well as more artistic illustration designs.
Giant Booster Pack Installation in Jakarta
To welcome this launch, AKG Entertainment presents giant booster pack at MRT Dukuh Atas, Central Jakarta. This installation can be enjoyed by the public starting September 26 to October 6, 2025 as a photo spot as well as a symbol of the spirit of the presence of "Mega Evolution" in Indonesia. According to Mr. Fachrul, Head of Marketing at AKG Entertainment, "AKG Entertainment hopes that this installation will not only become an interesting photo spot, but also encourage more people to get to know, collect, and play Pokémon cards with friends and family".
"Mega Evolution" Expansion Feature
Of course, every Pokémon TCG expansion has various new features to make the game more exciting. Let's find out what the latest features are:
- Presence of Mega ex Evolution cardPokémon ex: a special evolved form of a base Pokémon or a specific Pokémon ex, this card features the design of a Pokémon ex. Full Art full of color.
- AR, SAR, and MUR cardsAR (Art Rare) or SAR (Special Art Rare) cards have a new design and even have a connected illustration pattern when lined up. For MUR (Mega Ultra Rare) cards, the appearance is dominated by the color gold.
- New Strategy in the FightThe presence of Mega Lucario ex and Mega Gardevoir ex is in the spotlight because they are able to provide big attacks with the right strategy, such as maximizing attacks with Item Protein cards for Mega Lucario ex cards. Or the use of Mega Gardevoir ex cards to add Energy at once and cause a big attack for the opponent's Pokémon. The use of this strategy also carries a high risk when the Mega ex Evolution Pokémon is knocked out, the opponent can take 3 pieces of point cards at once.
Pokémon TCG "Mega Evolution" Sales Format
In Indonesia, Pokémon TCG "Evolusi Mega" comes in three sales formats:
- Regular Booster Pack: can be purchased individually or in boxes.
- Set of 10 Pak PLUS: contains 10 booster packs, 1 promo card, and 1 paper deck case. This set replaces the Collector's Set format of the previous series.
- Special Set: consists of two booster packs and one promo card, exclusively available at Indomaret minimarket network throughout Indonesia.
