Now, the cat characters known as mofusand These are no longer just still images, as they are finally getting adaptation anime short that is ready to entertain audiences starting early this year.
Mofusand Anime Airing Details
QTORY inc. officially announced that the popular cat character by illustrator Juno is being adapted into a short anime series. The anime is scheduled to debut on January 7, with new episodes airing every Wednesday at 08:00 JST.
Interestingly, the first episode of this anime has started airing earlier than the official schedule. This is a sweet surprise for fans who can't wait to see the funny behavior of Shark Meow and friends in animated format.

Viewers can watch it through QTORY's official YouTube channel as well as various other streaming platforms.
In celebration of this announcement, Juno released the following custom illustration which depicts the joy of the cats.

Synopsis and Characters
The story in this anime is centered on Shark Meow, a cat orange tabby who is unique for always wearing a shark costume. Despite being a bit reckless and living life with pace relaxed, her days are always colorful.
Together with her cat friends and a rescued kitten named Little Meow, they go through various sweet little adventures and unexpected events. QTORY describes this anime as a show that captures small moments of warmth.
Moments such as the warm sunshine in the garden, the sparkle of the sea water, the steam from the still-hot roasted sweet potatoes, and the thrill of seeing the first snow fall. It is a gentle spectacle and snuggly, designed to make the audience smile and feel Relate with simple everyday happiness.
Voice Cast and Production Staff
This short anime was produced by Monster's Egg studio under the direction of director Hazumu Sakuta. He was previously known for his works wholesome such as Sumikko Gurashi Sorairo no Mainichi and movies Eiga Sumikko Gurashi: Tsugihagi Kojo no Fushigi na Ko.

The mofusand journey began when Juno first shared illustrations of cats in funny costumes on X/twitter account in 2017. The character quickly gained attention and developed into one of the new pop culture icons thanks to the realistic yet witty expressions of the cat.
This social media success then extended to the publishing world. Kadokawa published his first illustration book titled Falling in Love with a Traveling Cat in August 2022. Following this, Shogakukan Creative released two volumes of compilation books Same-nyan (Shark-nyan) in April 2024. The English version of the first book was also published by Udon Entertainment in October 2024.
In Indonesia alone, his popularity exploded and became widely known after collaboration merchandise official with Uniqlo through the UT line released some time ago.
