Zenless Zone Zero will receive update version 2.6 titled “Encore for an Old Dream” on February 6. This update is positioned as an interlude after the culminating chapter of Season 2, so the focus is more on connecting the story and seasonal activities in New Eridu. The mood is mixed: the festival atmosphere remains, but there are signs of trouble brewing behind the scenes.
Story focus: Sixth Street and Gilded Carrot Day
Version 2.6 brings Proxies back to Sixth Street, a familiar location for many players. The annual Gilded Carrot Day celebration is the main setting, complete with city lights and entertainment. Even so, the story still inserts a sense of unease through an urgent commission related to an illegal intelligent entity. This situation also opens up the opportunity to work with Jane Doe again at Sixth Street. On the other hand, the festival atmosphere spreads to the music venue 404 Error, where the idol group Angels of Delusion prepares for their first live performance with the guidance of a vocal coach who is described as mysterious.
New agents: Sunna and Aria from Angels of Delusion
This update introduces two new Agents from Angels of Delusion. Sunna comes as an S-Rank Physical Support whose role is to strengthen Attack and Anomaly-type teammates. Her mechanic involves a companion named Bubblegum who marks enemies with Cat's Gaze, then the mark can be triggered to deal damage while giving an Attack buff to the entire squad. Sunna's Ultimate is described as a burst attack using a large hammer and triggers Quick Assist to bring another team member into the rotation.
Aria is introduced as an Ether Anomaly with two forms, namely construct form and idol projection. Aria focuses on high burst against enemies that have been hit by Attribute Anomalies through charged attacks, and is said to be suitable for facing enemies head-on. Bangboo “Biggest Fan” also joins the support roster, with the function of gradual HP recovery and increased Attack if there are at least two Angels of Delusion members on the team.
Events, new modes, and system customizations
The main event of version 2.6 titled “A Harmony of Delusions” places Proxies as backstage staff organizing practice schedules and social media activity. This event combines rhythm-based gameplay and the Marcel Adventure expansion with new maps and mechanics.
Hollow Zero also gets an additional mode called Operation Matrix. This mode features themed stages that rotate weekly with unique mechanics. Team composition includes three Primary Agents, one Bangboo, and one Auxiliary Agent, plus new Resonances and agent-specific Gears for strategy variety. A Sweep system was also added to Hollow Zero to speed up the progress process. In terms of character customization, Lycaon and Harumasa are said to receive enhancements, and Pan Yinhu will get a new outfit through a limited event.
Reward schedule and rerun banner
Version 2.6 set up a series of daily activity-related rewards, including a total login reward of 3,300 Polychromes through the Inter-Knot Membership event. The period of February 14-23 also saw daily login events with lucky draws connected to the 4 billion Polychrome pool distribution. For banners, S-Rank Agents Yixuan (Auric Ink - Rupture) and Yuzuha (Physical - Support) are scheduled to return through rerun banners in this version.
