After announcement Initially attracting the attention of mecha fans and virtual talents, Bandai Namco and Cover Corporation finally shared more details about the collaboration project between Gundam Series and Hololive Production.
This latest information was shared directly through a special booth at the hololive SUPER EXPO 2026 event. The big event has just completed all its activities on March 8 at Makuhari Messe, Japan.
For those of you who didn't have time to monitor the live updates from the event, this collaboration has brought a lot of interesting content. Bandai Namco and Sunrise prepared various surprises ranging from special mecha designs to multimedia content expansion.
Hololive's Special Edition Mobile Suit lineup
The main attraction of this project is the presence of Mobile Suits from the Gundam Series that get original color designs. These livery colors and designs are tailored specifically to the agency's theme as well as the visual characteristics of each hololive VTuber.
In this first wave of announcements, Sunrise unveiled seven Mobile Suit designs that will take center stage. The main icons of this collaboration are RX-78-2 Gundam that get a special design hololive production Ver.

Apart from the main mecha, six popular VTubers also got their own representative Mobile Suit.

Here is the full list of the first batch announced:
- Houshou Marine paired with XM-X1 Crossbone Gundam X1.
- Hakui Koyori controlling ZGMF-X10A Freedom Gundam.
- Rindo Chihaya present together RX-0 Unicorn Gundam 02 Banshee Norn.
- Shirakami Fubuki represented by GN-001 Gundam Exia.
- Sakura Miko get a customized design for RX-93 Nu Gundam.
- Hoshimachi Suisei look elegant with MSN-04 Sazabi.
The selection of this Mobile Suit looks very much like the identity of each talent. Fans can see first-hand how VTuber's signature color elements are applied to the legendary mecha armor.
Gunpla exhibition at hololive SUPER EXPO 2026
During the event, visitors to the Gundam and Hololive Production collaboration booths had the opportunity to see first-hand examples of Gunpla exhibits that had been painted according to the collaboration's design. This Gunpla paint sample exhibition is a special attraction for model kit builders.

However, the Bandai Hobby Site provided an important note regarding this exhibition. The products displayed at the corner of the exhibition are still in the planning stage. Therefore, the organizers cannot give a definite guarantee that the Gunpla designs will be mass-produced or sold to the public at this time.
However, the Bandai Namco Group is exploring additional initiatives. They are planning various other exclusive Merchandise lines related to this collaboration event. Visitors to the booth yesterday also had the opportunity to take home a free collaboration logo sticker.
Multimedia Content Expansion
This collaborative project will certainly not just stop at mecha and Gunpla designs. Sunrise confirmed the expansion into various other entertainment media to indulge fans of both franchises.
Here are some of the multimedia contents that are being prepared:
- Episodic Mini-Story: Short stories featuring hololive VTubers and will be released gradually.
- Music and Music Video: The release of the collaboration song along with a special Music Video adapted directly from the Project's theme. This move is in line with Hoshimachi Suisei's track record of having previously contributed to the theme song for Mobile Suit Gundam GQuuuuuuX.
- New Costume Illustration: The VTuber will get a customized Pilot Suit design that they wear to control their respective Mobile Suit.
- Mini Character Design: Mini or chibi versions of the characters were also prepared to complete the visual variety of this collaboration.
Continuation of future projects with hololive
The announcement of the six VTuber and their Mobile Suit is explicitly referred to as the first wave. This gives a strong indication that Cover Corporation and Bandai Namco still have many other plans for the long term.
You can expect more Hololive talents to join the project in the future. Any new talent that joins will most likely also bring another iconic Mobile Suit from the long history of the Gundam Series.
With the end of the Event in Japan yesterday, fans are now just waiting for the official release schedule for the Mini-Story, Music Video, and Merchandise status updates. You can keep an eye out for more information and updates via official website of Gundam and hololive collaboration.
This project is a clear step from Bandai Namco to merge two large fan bases into one massive entertainment ecosystem by 2026.
